Extra Days Off for Eid al-Adha

Mark your calendars — Friday, 6 June has been officially declared a public holiday in honour of Eid al-Adha, with Saturday, 7 June added as a day off for those on a six-day workweek.

The announcement follows confirmation from the Office of Muslims of Uzbekistan that Eid will begin on the 6th. Celebrations will be held nationwide, with local and national authorities coordinating events to honour traditions and ensure smooth festivities.

Expect an uptick in domestic travel too, as the Tourism and Transport ministries aim to make it easier for people to visit religious and historical sites.

🇺🇿 World Cup Qualifiers: Crunch Time for Uzbekistan

With just days to go, Uzbekistan’s national football team is gearing up for a pair of decisive matches that could see them qualify to the World Cup for the first time ever. The team has been training in the UAE since 29 May, preparing for a critical away game against the UAE on 5 June.

A draw would be enough to advance — though even a loss leaves the door open, with their final qualifying game against Qatar looming on 10 June at Bunyodkor Stadium.

By my calculations there’s about a 70% chance of them guaranteeing qualification in Thursday night’s game. Good luck Uzbekistan!

💄 BeautyExpo Uzbekistan Kicks Off Today

The 19th annual BeautyExpo opens its doors today at the Uzexpocentre, bringing together hundreds of exhibitors from the beauty and salon industry.

Running through 6 June, the event features everything from skincare and cosmetics to salon tech and spa innovations.

Backed by the Association of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists of Uzbekistan, and boosted by an ambitious advertising campaign, the expo is expected to draw large crowds.

🎤 Rammstein Frontman Coming to Tashkent

Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann will perform in Tashkent on 9 January 2026 as part of his solo Meine Welt tour. The concert will take place at the Axelon Karting Centre in Anhor Park, an unusual venue for one of Europe’s most intense live performers.

Known for his work as a musician, poet, and actor, Lindemann's solo shows mix industrial metal with theatrical flair. Tickets go on sale via ticketon.uz from 6 June 2025. This is a rare chance to see the legendary German artist live in Uzbekistan as he tours through Central Asia.
